We provide facilities for all types of special needs children enabling them to enjoy group play and develop learning skills.

We also offer support, advice and friendship for parents whose children share similar problems. The children are accepted on a referral basis within the southern parishes area and their learning skills are
developed according to their individual needs. They are also given support which enables them to progress into our fully inclusive pre-school.

We offer 1:1 care for your child from a qualified member of staff, highly trained SENCO
support.

We have regular visits from outside health and education professionals to ensure the
consistent care and development of each individual child.

history of Wildern Opportunity Group

Wildern Opportunity Group first opened its doors in September 1988 where we initially
set up after a group of professionals realised there was no provision in the
Hedge End Village area for children with special needs. In the early days the
group was only open for two sessions a week and used a spare room at Wildern
School.

Over the past three decades the sessions have evolved to include our fully inclusive
pre-school setting and all sessions are now held in the Small Hall of the Hedge
End 2000 centre. Our opportunity group still runs two sssions on a Friday
from 9.30 – 12.00 & 12.30 – 3.00.
