Opportunity Group

Coinciding with the pre-school we also run a special needs group designed specifically for the needs and requirements of your child.

The sessions are run by experienced and trained leaders and other members of trained staff, all of whom have experience in a number of different areas. They are supported by a devoted band of regular volunteers.

The group have built good relationships with community health professionals ensuring a consistent approach to the care and development of each individual child. Parents are invited to stay during our opportunity sessions, offering each other support and sharing information.

What Do We Do?

We provide facilities for all types of special needs children enabling them to enjoy group play and develop learning skills.

We also offer support, advice and friendship for parents whose children share similar problems. The children are accepted on a referral basis within the southern parishes area and their learning skills are developed according to their individual needs. They are also given support which enables them to progress into our fully inclusive pre-school.

We work a key worker system that means every child has a key adult worker to help meet that child’s individual needs.

Our Aims

The group has the following aims…

  • To ensure the safety and well being of every child
  • To accept each child as an individual and meet all of their needs.
  • To provide satisfying group and individual play for every child.
  • To offer support and friendship to all parents and careers
